Warranty

This Warranty Policy applies to all products purchased from True North (“we”, “us”, “our”).

True North is operated by an Australian sole trader and complies with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


1. Manufacturer Warranty

True North products are covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, unless otherwise stated.

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and intended conditions.


2. What the Warranty Covers

Subject to this policy, the warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Faulty materials

  • Workmanship faults present at the time of supply

At our discretion, warranty claims may result in:

  • Repair

  • Replacement

  • Refund


3. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Misuse, abuse, or neglect

  • Improper installation or incorrect fitment

  • Failure to follow instructions or warnings

  • Modification or alteration of the product

  • Off-road misuse beyond intended product design

  • Impact damage, corrosion, or environmental exposure

  • Load stress, stretching, deformation, or overloading

  • Damage caused during recovery operations

  • Commercial or competition use unless stated otherwise


4. Recovery Gear & Safety Equipment Disclaimer

Some products sold by True North are recovery gear or safety-related equipment.

By purchasing these products, you acknowledge that:

  • Use is at your own risk

  • Incorrect use may cause damage, injury, or loss

  • Warranty claims may be declined where failure results from improper recovery techniques or excessive load

This warranty does not override your rights under Australian Consumer Law.


5. Warranty Claim Process

To make a warranty claim, you must contact us with:

  • Proof of purchase

  • A detailed description of the issue

  • Clear photos or video evidence of the fault

We may require the product to be returned for inspection before approving any claim.


6. Assessment & Inspection

All warranty claims are subject to inspection to determine whether:

  • The fault is covered under this warranty

  • The issue existed at the time of supply

  • The failure resulted from misuse or external factors

If a claim is rejected, the product may be returned to you at your expense.


7. Replacement & Repair

Where a warranty claim is approved:

  • Replacement products may be new or refurbished

  • Repairs may be performed using equivalent components

Replacement or repair does not extend the original warranty period.


8. Shipping Costs

If a warranty claim is approved:

  • We will cover reasonable return shipping costs

If a warranty claim is rejected:

  • All shipping costs remain the responsibility of the customer


9. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure

  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage

This warranty is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.


10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, True North is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Personal injury resulting from misuse

  • Damage to vehicles or property caused by incorrect installation or use
